Some of our international training sessions

Fort Lauderdale, USA – Superyacht Shrink Wrap Training

We delivered boat shrink wrap training on a superyacht in Fort Lauderdale, focusing on premium marine protection. Trainees learned techniques for wrapping delicate surfaces, fitting around railings, and securing large structures without damage. The hands-on session helped local teams master professional standards for high-value, weatherproof yacht tents.

Singapore – Shipyard Shrink Wrap Training

At a major Singapore shipyard, we provided industrial shrink wrap training for wrapping vessels and equipment. The session covered flame-retardant film use, large-scale containment techniques, and installation safety. Participants gained practical experience, preparing them to protect marine assets during transport, maintenance, and long-term storage.

Thessaloniki, Greece – Refinery Shrink Wrap Training

In Thessaloniki, we trained refinery personnel in applying shrink wrap to scaffold structures during shutdowns and maintenance. Emphasis was placed on heat tool handling, fire safety, and effective sealing for dust containment. The training enabled on-site teams to maintain safety standards while improving turn around efficiency.

In person shrink wrap training courses from Rhino Shrink Wrap are delivered in two parts;

Part 1 – Theory. each trainee / candidate must watch a series of online video modules which teach the basic shrink wrapping skills and shrink wrapping health and safety. At the end of each video module, a multiple choice test checks knowledge and learning.

Part 2 – Practical. On the training day, the trainer will provide further explanation & demonstration of the shrink wrap skills. Candidates will be expected to undertake ‘hands on’ shrink skills such as creating heat welded joints and shrinking and each candidates skills will be assessed by the trainer.

The Rhino shrink Wrap trainer will complete the respective assessment documents for each candidate and once processed, certificates will be issued for all candidates who have successfully achieved a pass score.

Part 1 (online theory) takes approximately 2-3 hours to complete. (This part can be stopped & started & completed at the candidates own pace).

Part 2 (in person practice & assessment) takes approximately 3-4 hours to complete.

In person training courses are run ‘on demand’ to suit your requirements.

We usually carry out the ‘in person’ part of the training at our customers location. However, for our scaffolding shrink wrap course – How To Shrink Wrap Scaffolding Like a Pro - we have an under cover scaffold structure at our HQ in Cheshire, close to J17 or J18 of the M6 motorway.

We will supply all the materials & equipment you need for your course. You can order extra shrink wrap materials & equipment for use after your training course. Shrink wrap starter kits can be found on our online store or contact us for help.

You will need to provide an area for training that is suitable for hot works and protected from wind & rain. (This allows the trainees to focus on learning shrink wrap skills, rather than battling the weather) We can carry out shrink wrap training located outside but we may need to re-schedule the training at short notice if the weather forecast does not look suitable.

If the product to be shrink wrapped is large, you will need to provide some means of safe access. The access equipment should be able to be moved around the entire item being shrink wrapped.

To carry out the in person part of our scaffold shrink wrapping course you will need to build a scaffold training structure. So that we can show how to shrink wrap a temporary roof, the top of the structure should be fully boarded with a handrail and proper access via an external ladder. If you build a larger training structure, then lifts must be boarded so that all parts of the structure are within ‘arms reach’. Further information will be sent as part of the course joining instructions.

In order that everyone gets plenty of hands on practice with the shrink wrap hot air tool, we can train & assess up to 4 candidates per session. If you have more than 4 candidates who need training, no problem, we will run additional training sessions.

The cost of an in person shrink wrap training course will depend on how many people you would like to be trained, the training location and what is required to be shrink wrapped as part of the training. As a rough guide, an in person courses (based on 4 candidates ) starts at around £350 per candidate.

Complete the enquiry form by telling us which course, your location and how many people you would like to be trained. We will respond with a written quotation. Once we receive your order & payment, we will issue full joining instructions which includes the access instructions for the online training modules. Once all candidates have completed the online part of the training, we proceed with the in person training & assessment.

Yes, we can provide shrink wrap training on a real product or scaffold. However, it's important to understand that this is a training environment—trainees need the opportunity to practice and make mistakes safely. As such, the first attempt at wrapping may not meet the standard required for a finished product or customer-ready job. In some cases, it may be necessary to rewrap. The trainer's role is to demonstrate correct techniques and assess each trainee's progress. They are not responsible for wrapping a set number of items or achieving a specific square meterage of coverage during the session.

Yes, we provide ‘in person’ shrink wrap training internationally. We’ve delivered training for clients all over the world. Just get in touch, and we’ll provide a tailored quote based on your location and requirements. You can also purchase our online only training courses directly through our online store. Please note that while our online courses cover the theory, including health and safety, we are unable to assess your practical skills remotely. Therefore, a full certification is not issued for online training. However, you will receive a downloadable certificate of completion.

A Rhino Shrink wrap training certificate & ShrinkPass verified installer card lasts for 3 years from the date of issue. To renew your certificate & card, a refresher assessment will be required.
